Each of you has a gift to contribute. Please follow the instructions linked below if you would like to be considered for a volunteer opportunity during one of our National meetings. Our state can send up 5 recommendations from the Leadership Identification and Development Committee. In past years, those recommendations have allowed our members to serve on a panel, introduce a speaker, serve on the budget and finance committee, do the inspiration at one of our Governing Board meetings, and serve on Steering Committee.
If you are a graduate of our Leadership Academy, I strongly urge you to apply. If you have served or currently serve in one of our local Networks, I strongly urge you to apply. Good luck!
Spring is here and sales are hot! The first quarter was a busy one for the Women’s Council. We
had our first Executive Board meeting in January and our first Governing board meeting during
the GAR Inaugural meeting in Atlanta. We did something new this year and invited our Strategic
Partners to the meeting and gave them pins to wear for the year. We also gave them signage
that they can display at any expo they participate in during 2018. We know how valuable they
are to our meeting our goals during 2018!
In March we welcomed our National President, Jo Ann Stevens. In keeping with our tradition of
the last few years, we had a dinner for our Local Presidents and our past State Presidents to
meet Jo Ann and get to spend a bit of time getting to know her. What our National President
didn’t know was that we had a surprise in store for her. We took her to the Porsche Center
where she was able to be driven around the track for some test laps with Porsche’s only female
driver. The other guests got to tour the museum and had the opportunity to try out the simulators and race against each other before our private dinner. Thank you again to Georgia MLS for sponsoring that part of the event. Everyone had a great time trying out their need for speed! The following day, our Local Network Presidents hosted the lunch for the National President. When Jo Ann walked in the room, she exclaimed “You thought of everything! There are even yellow roses!” She told the group that Georgia really raised the bar for visits. Everyone else will have a lot to live up to.
Our Networks also had a busy March. If you missed “Train your Brain for Success” with Robb
Zbierski, you missed a great presentation. This is the kind of content that Women’s Council is
presenting this year- programs that you can’t get anywhere else. I am proud to say that we have
411 REALTOR members as of my writing and more are joining daily. They are seeing the value
of being a part of the 12th largest professional women’s organization in the U.S.
We would love to have you join us in Washington D.C for the mid year meetings. they are being
held at the Washington Hilton, May 17-19. Go to WCR.ORG to sign up. There will be some new
features at this years meeting. We will be voting for our 2019 Officers in May this year to give
our newest leaders more time to prepare to step into their role.
I will be visiting the Local Networks in the coming months. We are starting a new Recognition
program in Georgia this year. My first stop will be at the North Metro event this month on April
19. We will be recognizing our members who are celebrating their 10th year or longer of being a
member of the Women’s Council of REALTORS. We want to thank each of them for their
Loyalty to the Council and we have a special gift for each of you who have reached that
milestone. I hope to see each of you soon.

Greetings from your Women’s Council of REALTORS Georgia President!
2018 is already proving to be an exciting year. Between the first snow in Savannah in almost 30 years and the Bulldogs winning the Rose Bowl and coming sooo close in the National Championship, we are off to an eventful start and it’s only January.
There are exciting things happening in our Council as well. In December, we welcomed 6 new members and have already had 15 new members join this month. I am pleased to announce that almost all of our Networks have at least one new member and some have already increased their membership 25% over last year. I think we may have some winners in May when we go to our National meetings!
You will notice some new information on the website this year. The calendar on this home page has every Industry event, Networking opportunity, and Member only event for all of the Local Networks. Now it is easier than ever to find out about these great programs that you won’t want to miss.
Later this month, the 2018 application for the Women’s Council of Realtors Georgia Leadership Academy will be emailed to you. To enable us to provide even more benefits to the attendees, we will only be accepting 10 students this year. If you have wanted to be involved in leadership but felt like you didn’t have the necessary skills for the job, this is for you.
There is still time to register for the GAR Inaugural meeting in February. The hotel is completely booked but there are many hotels nearby. You can also register for a particular day if you are unable to commit to the three day conference. Our first Governing Board meeting will be taking place February 7th during the conference. We would love to have you there.
I am honored to serve you this year and I look forward to meeting many of you as I attend the Local Network events. Thank you again to all of our Strategic Partners that make all of this possible.
